Program Purpose and Description
The purpose of this project is to increase the financial viability of transporting EMS services by improving the overall reimbursement from their billing programs. As with cooperative efforts in other industries, this program allows a group of small services to be viewed, for the purposes of billing, as a combined and larger entity. Technology now allows a contracted billing service to process ambulance charges as a group when the runs have been entered into an electronic data system. In this way the service qualifies to receive the quality of service and reduce prices that larger services enjoy.
Program Benefits
- Increased revenue to the service
- Electronic data collection and all the associated benefits of a good data program
- Billing done by a highly qualified billing service
- Billing done without any out-of-pocket cost to the service
