Greetings Colleagues, I hope this finds you all doing well. Many of you attended the public meetings that were held in the late summer of 2008 regarding the Certification of Medical Rescue regulation (7.27.10 NMAC proposed). While the process has taken much longer than any of us wanted, the final draft of the regulation is now ready, and the final public hearing has been scheduled for February 19, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at the Harold Runnels Building auditorium, located at 1190 St. Francis Drive in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Additionally, the DOH Office of General Counsel recommended amendments for the Licensing of Emergency Medical Personnel rule (7.27.2 NMAC), primarily for the discipline and hearings sections of the rule. There have been some additional minor amendments to other sections as well. The Medical Rescue Regulation final draft and the Licensing Regulation amendment draft (with strike through and underline notations) will both posted on our website Tuesday January 26th for your review. Please feel free to email me any comments you have, and of course, you are invited to come to the public hearing to comment there if you wish. Lastly, you are invited to the Statewide EMS Advisory Committee meeting to be held here in Santa Fe on Thursday, January 28th at 1:30 p.m. at the State Library/Records complex @ 1205 Camino Carlos Rey.
